Key Legal Definitions โ I (Man, Person, Public Servant)
- "He" (s.8): The pronoun "he" and its derivatives are used for any person, whether male or female.
- "Man" (s.10): A male human being of any age. (Correspondingly, "woman" = a female human being of any age.)
- "Person" (s.11): Includes any Company or Association, or body of persons, whether incorporated or not.
- "Government" (s.17): Denotes the person(s) authorized by law to administer the Executive Government in Pakistan or any part of it.
- "Judge" (s.19): Means a person who is officially designated as a Judge, or who is empowered by law to conduct legal proceedings (civil or criminal) and give judgment โ both descriptions qualify.
- Public servant: All officers/servants appointed by the Federal or Provincial Government are called servants of the State. Every Judge and every Court of Justice is deemed a public servant.
- s.21, Explanation 2: Wherever "public servant" appears, it applies to a person in actual possession of the situation of a public servant, whatever legal defect there may be in his right to hold it.
