Shajjah, Jaifah & Itlaf-i-Udw
1. Shajjah (Head & Face Injuries)
- Total Kinds: There are six (6) kinds of Shajjah:
- 1. Khafifah: Injury without exposing the bone.
- 2. Mudihah: Exposing the bone without fracture.
- 3. Hashimah: Fracturing the bone without dislocating it. (Arsh = 10% of Diyat;
- imprisonment up to 10 years as ta'zir).
- 4. Munaqqilah: Fracturing and dislocating the bone.
- 5. Ammah: Fracture of the skull exposing/touching the brain membrane.
- 6. Damighah: Fracture of the skull causing rupture of the brain membrane.

2. Jurh (Wounds on Body parts other than Head/Face)
- Jaifah (s. 337-C): A wound that extends into the body cavity of the trunk.
- Ghair Jaifah (s. 337-E): A wound that does not extend into the body cavity.
3. Key Compensation (Arsh) Sections
- Section 337-M: Deals with Hurt not liable to Qisas.
- Section 337-T: Provides Arsh specifically for Fingers (and finger joints).
- Section 337-U: The Arsh for causing loss (itlaf) of a tooth (other than a milk tooth) is one-twentieth (1/20th) of the Diyat.
