Concept of Sovereignty in Islam
In Islamic philosophy, sovereignty belongs solely to Allah.
1. The Nature of Sovereignty
Allah’s authority is absolute and complete. It features limitless boundaries that cover all of the earths and the heavens. It is never imperfect, shared, or incomplete.
2. Permanence
The sovereignty of Allah is permanent and will exist forever. While everything else in creation—including the earth and the heavens—is perishable (will eventually end), Allah is imperishable. This eternal, self-sustaining nature is encapsulated in the divine names Ya-Hayy (The Ever-Living) and Ya-Qayyum (The Sustainer of All).
